Although I can credit numerous strands of inspiration (and I thank them all), which preceded the main event, my graduate student time at Mass Art was the real impetus behind my photographic journey. I am also grateful to the National Geographic ‘Your Shot’ photographic community, which offered feedback and advice from experts and the wider community of photographers. I was an active National Geographic Your Shot photography community contributor until it shuttered on October 31, 2019. Even now, I am still in the process of organizing and migrating the content, which was on the National Geographic platform, to other platforms, such as Adobe Portfolio.
I consider myself a passionate photographer and artist at heart. I am a deep believer in how photography, art, music, and culture can enrich our lives, and I aspire to the guiding tenet set forth by photographers, such as Alfred Stieglitz and Robert Frank. Stieglitz asserted, "In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality." Along this vein, Frank noted, "There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment."
